My Favorite Smoothie Recipe

IMG_1237.JPG

So, here's the thing. I love fruits and vegetables but if it's not ready to eat, as in washed, peeled, and cut, I rarely make the effort to prepare them. Years ago, I came to realization that the only way for me to get all the nutrients in one sitting is from smoothies. And, every time I made a smoothie, I changed things up and substituted ingredients hoping I'd find the best tasting recipe. A lot of times the smoothies were not that tasty and they were more so just forced down for the sake of nutrients. I always found something wrong with them; too watery, not creamy enough, bland, not sweet or too bitter.

But, that's all in the past now since I recently happened to stumble upon the perfect ingredients combo. You guys, seriously, this is the BEST I have ever made and I've been making smoothies for a long time. It’s really quick and easy and you can’t mess it up.

By the way, two very important ingredients in this smoothie have especially helped increase my breast milk supply are the Medjool dates and the Fenugreek powder (which is also found in most breast milk teas). More about this topic will be coming soon.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup of frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 cup coconut milk (I prefer the unsweetened but any will do)
  • Handful baby spinach
  • 1 small avocado
  • Two pitted Medjool dates
  • 1 teaspoon Fenugreek powder (optional)

Add all the ingredients to your favorite blender and blend blend blend until a creamy consistency is achieved. Top it with frozen berries and VOILA! The sweetest, creamiest and the most delicious smoothie that will make you go back for more. Enjoy and let me know if you tried the recipe and liked it.
